The Space and Creative Scotland are looking to bring together a group of 10 diverse Scottish cultural organisations to explore current challenges with digital intellectual property rights.
• Are you planning to produce and publish any digital cultural content in the next 12 months, whether video, audio or interactive?
• Might you benefit from free support to ensure you have cleared the correct rights for online publication?
• Do you want help making sure your contributors are fairly paid for their content or that the way you licence Intellectual Property is correct (e.g. scripts, music, design or archive/pre-recorded material).
• Would you like to be confident you have the rights to distribute your digital content online as intended, both now and in the future?
The Space – with funding from Creative Scotland – is looking to bring together a group of 10 diverse Scottish cultural organisations to explore current challenges with digital intellectual property rights and successful approaches to content publication and distribution.
Free support available:
• Each participating organisation will receive three days of free digital consultancy support from our specialist associates and will be invited to join four 1 hour peer learning sessions via Zoom, where you can share insights with each other and receive advice from us. The consultancy support is available over a six month period and the peer learning sessions will be held between May – July 2024.
• In addition, they would like to collect any anonymous data you might be willing to share from your recent digital productions. This and your feedback in the peer learning sessions, will help them better understand existing approaches and challenges in producing and distributing digital work, including costs, funding models, distribution methods and audiences reached.
• As well as supporting you with your digital content strategy, this project is designed to contribute research insights that will help the sector to remove barriers and reduce costs for digital content publication, whilst ensuring artists and other contributors are fairly paid for their work.
If you are interested in participating and receiving this free support, please complete our brief Expression of Interest by 5pm, Thu 28 March 2024.
