This fully funded residency will be in November at Lyth Arts Centre for five days and will be supported by an industry mentor, who will be selected based on the nature of the resident artist’s practice.
For the first time, Vivid Roots Collective are delivering residency projects across the Highlands in 2026. The project will support an artist in each of the partner venue’s localities to develop their practice or a creative idea, and share this with their audiences. The partner venues are Eden Court Theatre, Lyth Arts Centre and Macphail Centre. They will also be supported to deliver a sharing of their practice or idea at one of the Vivid Roots Collective’s scratch nights.
They are looking for an artist local to the residency venue who has an idea for a performance or an aspect of their practice that would benefit from development. The applicant must have a background in or be able to demonstrate an interest in theatre, but applications are welcome from any aspect of theatre-making.
Residency dates: Mon 7 – Fri 11 November 2026
Application Deadline: Mon 31 August 2026, 9am
Artist Fee £1,350 (two weeks at £600, plus holiday pay)
