Pay: £1800 fixed fee
Closing date: Mon 15 Jan 2024: 5pm

Fixed-term, freelance contract

The post of Volunteer Coordinator offers you an opportunity to join Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS) in the delivery of the National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT) 2024.

Line managed and supported by our Sector Development Manager, you will be working exclusively on the co-ordination of our ‘NFYT Amigos’ volunteer scheme, which offers 8-10 young people (aged 18+) the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in an arts environment. In addition to approximately 60 hours pre-event planning time, you will form part of the YTAS staff team in residence at NFYT in Ayr from 5-8 July 2024.

NFYT is the largest gathering of youth theatres in the UK. It enables young people to come together, discover and celebrate a shared passion, offering them the opportunity to develop as artists, audience members and creative thinkers.

The festival will welcome around 200 participants representing youth theatres from across Scotland and beyond. Up to six youth theatre shows will be performed at Ayr Gaiety Theatre, and there will be an education programme of artistic workshops delivered by leading theatre practitioners. Social events such as the NFYT Theatre Sports, Open Mic and Pop Quiz will take place in our campsite marquee at Rozelle Park.
