Join Birds of Paradise to celebrate the fourth instalment of their access-centred digital arts platform: Locked World.
On Tuesday 3 December they’ll host the digital premiere of Dollhouse, a new film by BOP Young Artists. Written by Bo Hogan, Lewis Teckkam, Joanna Shand, Karis Williamson and Gavin Yule. Directed by Morna McGeoch and Fergus Arnott.
Dollhouse is a dark mockumentary offering a chilling reading of the negative impact one person’s ‘good intentions’ can have on the lives of others.
In a ‘state-of-the-art’ facility, ‘The Caretaker’ collects people he sees as being ‘broken’. He ‘fixes’ them, like broken dolls, having no awareness that these people may not see themselves or each other as ‘broken’. Is there any way out for the residents of the Dollhouse?
This film has captions, audio description and sign language interpretation embedded. Sign Language by Connor Bryson.
The event will have live captions (Louisa McDaid and Karen Pritchard) and sign language interpretation (by Nicolle Murdoch and Chloe Davidson).
