This Spring, Lyra presents Bright & Wild 2023 – a festival with children and teens at its heart. Over two weekends, they will showcase four new productions created in collaboration with Lyra’s Young Artists. These productions were commissioned by the Young Artists themselves, and they’ve been collaborating with their Lead Artists over the past nine months, creating and devising together.
At this year’s festival they’re inviting our audiences to ‘embrace the strange’. From alien landings to vampire sightings, the four new commissions explore the weird and wonderful worlds of the unknown, the unreal and strangeness. Join the Young Artists on a trip to the corners of their dreams and imaginations…
The festival will be kicked off with a curtain raiser by Lyra’s Young Company and the festival is produced and hosted by Lyra’s Culture Crew.
They will also be hosting two post-show Q&A discussions after both Saturday matinee performances. These events will be an opportunity to learn more about Lyra’s unique, child-led approach and will include some handy tips for any Artists interested in applying for a future commission with Lyra.
