The Traverse is delighted to be presenting the Class Act Edinburgh Showcase 2026. This year’s scripts have been created by young people from Edinburgh high schools – Craigroyston High School, Royal High School, Tynecastle High School & Trinity Academy.

Each script will be brought to life by a team of professional theatre-makers including directors, actors and musicians.

By placing professional playwrights and theatre-makers into each school to transform students into writers and storytellers, Class Act provides creative support and a safe space for participants, encouraging them to express themselves freely and imagine without inhibition. The results address what they feel passionate about, and each script crackles with unparalleled energy.
