Fringe Days Out 2026

YTAS have partnered with our friends at Fringe Days Out again this year to take our members to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – for free!

We have opportunities for young people and practitioners alike, so read on to find out how to get involved…

To help you narrow down the options, keep an eye out for our Picks of the Fringe in June.

Fringe Days Out: Youth Theatre Day Trips

For 2026, our Organisation: Plus members can apply for £100 vouchers to take their young people to the Fringe. There are six vouchers in total, and members can apply for a maximum of two per organisation. Tickets are open to all Organisation: Plus members across Scotland, and we are particularly interested in applications from groups who have not benefited from the programme before.

If you would like to apply, please register your interest using the link below. Allocations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you apply it would be helpful for you to know…

  • The show you want to see
  • How many young people you want to bring
  • How many adults you want to bring

If you are successful in claiming one of the vouchers, we will ask for confirmation of your ticket booking to ensure the money has been fully used. If the voucher remains unspent, we will share it with another group. This helps us to advocate for sustained or increased support in future years.

At the end of summer, we will also ask you to complete a short evaluation form to share with the Fringe Days Out team.

*Popular shows may sell out, so the sooner you make your booking with YTAS, the more likely you are to get all your tickets.

Fringe Days Out: Artist Trips

We haven’t forgot about the leaders! We’re back again this year to take YOU, the artists, practitioners, leaders, assistants – to the Fringe!

We know that seeing theatre is such an important part of the creative process, but that tickets are not always affordable. As with previous years, YTAS want to help you to see more shows.

Fringe trips are open to Individual members and Organisation: Plus members, and there will be three occasions in August to join YTAS and around eight other artists to see two shows, have a drink, and chat about the work.

These informal events are a great way to meet other artists and to see work that you might not otherwise book for yourself.

The dates are…

  • Wednesday 12 August (afternoon)
  • Thursday 20 August (lunchtime)
  • Friday 21 August (evening)

When you apply, you will be asked to select your preferred date and to let us know if you have any access needs. Travel bursaries and childcare support are available for Individual members.

Shows will be booked in June at times that allow for travel in and out of the city.

See you in August, if not before!
