Sector Review 2020 now live!

It’s hard to believe it’s been so long since our last Sector Review, but we last carried out this sector-wide research in 2015 (you can read more about it here) and a lot has changed since then!

We are carrying out a review throughout September, to help us understand what position Scotland’s youth theatre sector was in collectively before lockdown, as well as since. The Sector Review is now open and the deadline for submissions is Wednesday 30 September.

Who can participate and what do YTAS need to know?

This survey is for all groups who use drama or performance in their work with young people, and we’re keen that as many organisations as possible are included in the review, so we get the best picture of the sector that we can. We’ll ask you questions about your group up to March 2020, including the number of participants and staff you had at that point, as well as age ranges and demographics of the young people you work with. We will use the information we gather to help us to identify how we’re developing as a sector, and how we can develop further.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. To thank you for your time, we’ll invite you to enter a prize draw to win £50 on a pre-paid card, for you or your organisation to spend as you wish.

What about COVID-19?

Once you have finished the survey, we’ll give you the opportunity to complete another shorter survey to tell us more about how the pandemic has affected your organisation. (But don’t worry, this doesn’t have to be completed at the same time!) This additional survey will help us with shorter term advocacy and support.

We really hope that you will be able to take part in the survey and help us secure the future of youth theatre arts across Scotland.
