Sector Support

Sector Training Programme

Youth Theatre Arts Scotland have a rolling programme of youth theatre sector training sessions, with events taking place throughout the year.

The training programme uses a blend of virtual and live events and a variety of different formats. We use Workshop spaces for subjects led by an expert; our ever-popular Swap Shops for the youth theatre sector to share ideas; Creative Conversations to allow a bit of Q&A on a given topic; and Fora to bring groups together to work through projects and challenges.

To help you to better select the training sessions that are most appropriate, each training event has a suggested audience of Managers, Youth Theatre Practitioners, or Freelancers. We also break down our dynamic programme into six thematic areas…

Youth Theatre FoundationsHow to run a safe, efficient organisation through policy, legislation and best practice.
Creative ConceptsCreative workshops for all the artforms under the umbrella term we call “youth theatre”.
Youth Theatre for EveryoneInvestigating all areas of access and inclusion – not just ticking boxes.
Money MattersHelp with managing finance, balancing budgets and getting really good at fundraising.
Next GenerationEmpowering the leaders of tomorrow.
Freelancers’ GuideTackling topics that are unique to the freelancers in our sector.
