This local assembly on Fri 20 Mar 2026 will focus on creative climate collaboration to build flood resilience and support coastal adaptation across Ayrshire.
SPRINGBOARD brings together artists, cultural and sustainability organisations, climate workers, activists, local businesses, third-sector organisations and anyone interested in collaborating to form powerful local networks for creative climate action. Local assemblies are an opportunity to connect with other practitioners in your region to address climate change collectively. The events are for anyone working or volunteering in the climate or environmental sector, the arts, screen, creative industries, museums, heritage and libraries.
Agenda
Tea and coffee will be provided upon arrival at 9.45am.
10am: Welcome and introductory presentations by AGP, Narture CIC, Ayrshire Climate Hub and South Ayrshire Council about local climate action.
10.45am: Walking, sensing and making workshop facilitated by UWS academics and artists, developing creative responses to the River Ayr and the coastline.
11.30am: Comfort break.
11.45am: Creative mapping of local flood risks led by University of Glasgow PhD student Rhiannon Hawkins.
12.30pm: Lunch break.
1.30pm: Group reflection on creative work developed in the morning sessions, facilitated by UWS academics and artists.
2pm: Ideas clinic to support next steps and shared actions, facilitated by CCS.
3.30pm: Close.
After the event, attendees are invited to stay at UWS for a free film screening.
