Join YTAS and LBGT Youth Scotland in the first Youth Theatre for Everyone workshop of the year, focusing on LGBTI inclusion and identities.
Please note this session is sold out, but you can join the waiting list via the ticketing links.
LGBT Youth Scotland works alongside thousands of young people, teachers, and professionals which gives us an in-depth understanding of the challenges people face and what we can do to overcome them. Many people who approach LGBT Youth Scotland express that they lack confidence especially on language and terminology, and their fear of getting it wrong often holds them back. This session is a great opportunity to learn more about LGBTI people and identities, increase your confidence, and share learning with your peers. Whether you work with LGBTI young people or colleagues directly or indirectly, our training is a safe space to learn, discuss, and take away practical tips and advice.
This workshop is part of our Youth Theatre for Everyone strand of training, focusing on investigating all areas of access and inclusion – not just ticking boxes.
The YTAS sector training programme is supported by funding from the Gannochy Trust and Creative Scotland. Bursaries are available to any YTAS Member who requires financial support in order to attend one of our training courses, and will cover any fees associated with the training.
Learning Objectives
- Increased knowledge around LGBT identities
- Greater understanding of the barriers faced by LGBT young people in Scotland
- Greater understanding of inclusive practice to create an LGBT inclusive service/working environment
At the end of the session you will have the opportunity to learn about LGBT Youth Scotland’s Charter programme for organisations and to join YTAS on their journey to become a LGBTQIA+ safe and inviting employer.
