Creative Scotland is seeking six board members to help set the strategic direction and oversee its performance, finances, governance and risk management.

Length of appointment: 4 years, from January 2027
Time commitment: One day per month
Remuneration: £280 per day
Board Members help set Creative Scotland’s strategic direction and oversee its performance, finances, governance and management of risk. They support and constructively challenge the Executive Team, scrutinise major decisions and ensure public resources are used responsibly and effectively.
Board Members represent Creative Scotland, advise Scottish Ministers and work with partners to strengthen Scotland’s arts, screen and creative sectors.
Working with the Chair and Chief Executive, Board Members will contribute to the Board’s oversight of organisational performance, risk and financial stewardship, while supporting public-service reform and improving outcomes, reducing inequality and strengthening long-term sustainability.
They are looking for people who have an interest in, and experience of the culture and creative sector. You should also possess skills in collaboration, communication and constructive challenge; have good analysis and decision-making ability and some experience in Governance and Stewardship.
