Experienced Freelance Drama Facilitator required for after school workshops in East Lothian for children aged 5 – 18 years.
The Drama, Musical Mill and Mill Youth Theatre School is seeking an experienced facilitator to lead engaging and inspiring drama workshops for children aged 5 to 18 in various venues across East Lothian. This role could be filled by one person, or shared between drama facilitators with 4-hour blocks available from Monday to Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
Lead drama workshops tailored to different age groups (5-18 years).
Plan and coordination of weekly workshops.
Direct and devise theatre productions for young participants.
Collaborate creatively with other team members to develop new artistic projects.
Qualifications
Drama Degree (preferable but not essential)
Proven experience in leading drama workshops and directing theatre for young people
Experience working with children of different ages.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, friendly, and energetic personality to connect and engage with young people.
A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to developing your own style and craft.
Requirements
Must be a member of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme.
Own transport is required due to the geographical nature of the work, allowing travel between venues.
Position Details
Freelance role offering approximately 12-14 hours per week, Monday to Thursday £30 per hour. Approx £1680 per month depending on hours
Opportunities for holiday work and to initiate new classes.
