Capital grants are available to registered charities as match funding for buildings and equipment associated with a wide range of projects. Two stage application process and the next deadline is 1 July 2023.
Their main grants programme provides support for places. These grants are for capital initiatives, ie buildings (new build or refurbishment) and equipment. They fund a broad range of organisations working across the fields of education, science & medicine, health & disability, heritage, humanities & the arts.
Who can apply?
– Funding for performing arts organisations
They support performing arts organisations with an outstanding artistic programme to improve their performance and training facilities. They generally award grants towards the refurbishment of artists’ facilities like dressing rooms or other backstage spaces, towards refurbishing auditorium facilities such as seating and rehearsal spaces, and to teaching and education facilities. They also occasionally provide grants for specialist equipment.
– Funding for museums & galleries
They provide funding for museums and galleries to improve the display and interpretation of nationally significant collections for the public. They generally award grants towards refurbishing or creating new galleries and, occasionally to education and learning spaces.
– Funding for libraries & archives
They support libraries and archives caring for nationally significant collections and which have a clear emphasis on public access and engagement. They usually award grants to collection storage facilities and research, education or interpretation spaces.
