Royal Conservatoire of Scotland: Spring Awakening

Tron Theatre
63 Trongate, Glasgow, G1 5HB
£16

A dark, raw and funny theatrical retelling of Frank Wedekind’s explosive play that sparked riots in 1906. Modernised by award-winning playwright Anya Reiss, this bold new adaptation delves into the exuberance, intensity, and confusion of teenage life today.

In a world where the internet is both a teacher and a battleground, young people navigate the chaos of sex, love, and identity, shaped by a generation that struggles to understand them.

Students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s BA Performance for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Actors programme present this explosive play in a mixture of BSL and English.

This staging will be part of RCS’s Awakenings season, a series of performances, talks and events exploring the contemporary significance, daring provocations and artistic legacy of Wedekind’s groundbreaking play.

Directed by ANDREA LING
