The experiences you have because of your sexuality, or when you’re questioning your sexuality, can impact your mental health.

LGBT Youth Scotland’s Life in Scotland report 2022 demonstrates that there has been a decline in young people feeling happy as an LGBTQIA+ person living in Scotland over the course of a decade. In 2012, it was 67% followed by 55% in 2017 to 37% in 2022.

The Young Mind’s website is full of advice and information to give young people the tools to look after their mental health, and we think this guide is a great place to start when thinking about mental wellbeing and LGBTQIA+ identities.
