Stirling Culture Collective is recruiting nine artists for a paid year of participatory arts: eight cohort artists and one Lead Artist, placed with nine hosts across Stirling’s urban, rural and across communities of interest from September 2026. Cohort artists are paid £300/day; the Lead Artist £350/day, each for 35 days, in line with Creative Scotland’s Fair Work First requirements.
They’re looking for artists and creative practitioners who want to work collaboratively with communities, across a range of practices and disciplines — there’s no fixed skill-set required, and a connection to Stirling is a plus, but not essential.
Artists will have an interest and understanding of working in communities, and will be open to collaboration with other artists, communities and host partners – and potentially other collectives across Scotland.
The placements aim to explore a range of contexts for participatory arts, strengthen and explore the potential for creative opportunities in our communities and build the collective experience. The work aligns to the Stirling Cultural Strategy, led by Scene Stirling with Stirling Council, with a focus on creating equitable access to culture through our Cultural Rucksack catalyst strand.
Part of Creative Scotland’s national Culture Collective programme, funded by Scottish Government.
