We have a range of supports in place that aim to strengthen the youth theatre sector in Scotland.
As youth theatre has evolved as a practice and an art form in Scotland, YTAS has listened to the changing needs and aspirations of its sector. We have a vibrant community of youth theatre organisations across the country, and YTAS is here to support them to reach their full potential through our Membership Development Programme, sector training, and much more.

Training with YTAS
Youth Theatre Arts Scotland often host a rolling programme of training sessions for the youth theatre sector, with both virtual and in-person events taking place.
Led by our partners at Education Support, the EAP offers our freelance members access to a free and confidential support and guidance service that will help them deal with any personal issues which might impact work, health, or wellbeing.
YTAS exists to support our members and starting in 2023, our support offer will become even more bespoke, with a new portal of online resources, and Membership Support Coordinator.
Between 2017 and 2020, YTAS carried out focussed regional development activity to address gaps in Scotland’s youth theatre network by establishing new (and strengthening existing) regional creative and educational partnerships.
